We strive to serve the community in ways that go beyond treatment. Below are examples of our behavioral health initiatives in Delaware and Morrow counties.

CIT - Crisis Intervention Team

The DMMHRSB helps facilitate CIT training for area law enforcement agencies. CIT teaches first responders how to recognize a behavioral health crisis in progress and respond with appropriate care.

DFD - Drug Free Delaware

A Delaware County prevention coalition working toward a vision of a healthful community designed to be drug-free. Together with community partners, Drug Free Delaware works to help prevent underage drinking, the use of illegal drugs and the misuse of prescription medication.

Week of Appreciation

The success of our mission is only possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of the people in our network: providers, community partners, first responders, and the people who are working to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and addiction.

QPR

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — The 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor. Helpline leads QPR Training locally:

Service Coordination

We partner with the Delaware City Police Department to fund a full-time Service Coordinator. The Service Coordinator works alongside responding officers to determine whether behavioral health treatment would be a better option than a law enforcement response in appropriate situations, and then coordinates treatment options with providers.

Partnership for a Healthy Delaware

The Partnership for a Healthy Delaware County (The Partnership), is a group of agency directors, organizations, businesses and residents representing multiple sectors of Delaware County — from healthcare to business and industry to the schools to churches. The Partnership assesses the health of our community and develops and implements an action plan to improve population health. The Partnership uses a community-driven strategic planning process to generate key health strategies, which drive policies, systems and environmental change. This group is responsible for the community health assessment and the community health improvement plan.
