We're seeking applicants for the Delaware County Guardianship Services Board
The Delaware-Morrow Mental Health and Recovery Services Board is seeking applicants for a volunteer opening on the Delaware County Guardianship Services Board (DCGSB). Our Board is responsible for filling one of three seats on the DCGSB, which was created in 2022 as a guardianship program for mentally incompetent adults in Delaware County, as determined by Delaware County Probate Court.
The DSGSB meets quarterly on the first Thursday of January, April, July, and October, as well as once in December. Guiding principles for the DCGSB include treating all persons served with dignity, involving those individuals with decision making to the greatest extent possible, and selecting the least-restrictive options possible. Board members do not typically make day-to-day decisions about care, but instead provide guidance to Board staff on governance, policy direction, and fiduciary oversight. Interested applicants should reside in Delaware County and ideally have demonstrable experience in behavioral healthcare services or policy, law enforcement, or other areas related to guardianships and relevant probate procedures.
The incoming Board member will fill a term that expires December 31, 2028. Individuals interested in applying can contact DMMHRSB Executive Director Deanna Brant at dbrant@dmmhrsb.org. Please indicate Subject: Guardianship Services Board.
